Kirbyville CISD School Closure - March 16, 2020

Download this letter: English         Spanish

March 16, 2020

To the Kirbyville CISD Families and Staff:

We are working closely with state and local officials to monitor the current situation with the Coronavirus. Today, we learned that Judge Mark Allen is issuing a Disaster Declaration for Jasper County. In an abundance of caution, Kirbyville CISD has made the decision to close our schools through April 3 at which time we will reassess and notify you of our next steps.

Additionally, the district will offer a Flexible Education Program beginning March 18. Packets will be available at each campus. Campus principals will notify parents with further details. Beginning this Wednesday, we are also offering a Grab and Go lunch every weekday for any child 18 and under. Children must be present to receive a lunch. Parents and guardians can bring their children through the elementary drive from 9-11 am to pick up the lunches.

We want to thank you for your cooperation in this matter. The health and wellness of our students, staff, and families is our top priority.

Thank you,

Georgia Sayers
Superintendent of Schools
